The "Last" Crapbox entry

The "Last" Crapbox entry

What do you do when there's no more comics?

It finally happened. Today. 4/1/18. Someone should take note of the date for posterity. I reached into the Crapbox and my hand came back...empty.

That's right. They are gone. All of them. Every last comic. I finally reached the end. All of the Crapbox books have been reviewed. Let's have a moment of reverent silence for their passing.

In reflection, it was a good run. Well, maybe not good. It hurt. It hurt a LOT. Some of those books gave me migraines, the drawings were so bad. And I can recall plot twists and turns that I still don't understand.

The Crapbox tormented me, it's true.

And it wasn't just the bad books that were the source of this frustration, necessarily. There were good books that did me that way too. Great books even. Of course they came with huge gaping holes between this issue or the next, sometimes skipping the crucial beginning, oftentimes not showing me how matters got resolved in the end, always leaving out parts of the stories here and there. "Look issues 1, 2, 3 and 7...of an eight-issue mini. Well, this will be fun (sarcasm)."

Or "Issue 2...again. I love trying to figure out characters after missing their introduction."

But, in all they kept me entertained. And I hope I did the same for you. My honest effort in most cases was to inform. To share. To take these books that wandered my way and talk about them with my audience of 11 dedicated people.

In truth, I'm unsure what to do with myself in the absence of the Crapbox. So much of those reviews made up my early morning, rush to deadline routine (that's why it's never edited).

I guess I'll have to find something else to review.

Starting with this morning's breakfast, I guess...

"Fried Egg and Veggies”
Ingredients - eggs, yellow onion, golden potatoes, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and red, yellow, and green bell peppers
April 1, 2018

I put these things in a pan. Possibly for too long, as the potatoes completely disintegrated. I didn't think that would happen. I thought they would hang together like Mister Miracle did when he floated into the beam in that Giffen Justice League issue right before they went international.

But they didn't. They just fell apart into mush. Much like a Dire Wraith would after being blasted by ROM's Neutralizer.

As for the eggs, they came out fine, with the insides all runny and fluid like a Rob Liefield character's feet. Tasted okay, though.

I'm giving it a 4 out of 5, missing bacon or a bread item.

Tune in tomorrow for my review of bagels and see what MYSTERY CREME CHEESE! we will be using!

  1. BAH! The Crapboxes of the world will NEVER run dry! But great review on that breakfast. . .I agree totally that a bread item was needed for those Liefeld eggs.
